All she did was ask grocery stores to pay 1 penny more per pound of tomatoes. That penny went right to the laborers who picked the tomatoes, doubling their wages. Is there a champion we can get to take up our cause and tell the world about the fact that we’re human and deserve to be treated as such? I truly believe that when Requesters see us as human beings and not an algorithm in a computer, their empathy will drive them to pay a fairer wage.

If Eva Longoria championed migrant farm workers

You may not be old enough to remember the name, but I would point to some one like Cesar Chavez who was a WORKER and an organizer.

There seems to be major backlash against any one person standing up as a voice for the workers. Could we have a Chavez Committee of people who are somewhat representative of the group that could work together to champion our causes?
